The Intelligent Choice
About Melinda
I was born in a 1970 Boss 429 Mustang on the way to the hospital with a Real Estate magazine in my hands. Growing up, instead of playing with dolls as most of my friends did, I preferred to trade doll houses, eventually upgrading my doll house to the Barbie Mansion. In grade school, when we did paintings of our families, I painted our house with a price estimate in the window, behind the stick figures of my parents, my sister and my three brothers. (My parents had to tell my teacher that our house was not for sale.) By the time high school rolled around, I had my own business cards and sold premium locker spots all around the school. Upon graduation, I was voted Most Likely to Sell Alaskan Homes to Hawaiians. A Short History In all seriousness, I am a native Oregonian. The three strengths of our state are almost constant rainfall, eclectic art, and beautiful houses. I specialize in helping people buy and sell these houses, since I turned out to be terrible at throwing pots. Of course, growing up in Oregon was not enough to qualify me for a job as a realtor. After graduating from Phoenix High School, I attended Southern Oregon University for a couple years as I flip-flopped between different majors, later transferred to Clackamas Community College deciding on a Business major and finally finished up at Portland State University. I graduated PSU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing. Then went on to earn my Real Estate license and try my hand at selling Real Estate. I strongly believe in continual education and have taken many real estate classes over the years also earning me my principal broker license. Very soon after starting real estate, I received one of the best gifts of my life; a baby. Like most homeowners, he was reluctant to leave his original home, but once out, grew to love his new home very much. After a short vacation, I was ready to begin buying and selling houses again, this time with a sidekick. My second assistant came in June 2008 just as the big Housing Crisis hit our country. Experiencing what many other homeowners in our country were facing, he too was booted from his first abode. No matter how hard I try, I cannot whistle with both fingers in my mouth. Nor can I stand on my head, or do the worm. So don’t expect me to do any of that when we meet to discuss the value of your house, or the value of a house you would like to buy. Instead, expect me to be friendly, courteous, and excited to get you what you want. I will be able to meet you just about whenever you want, although I’d prefer not to meet on a street corner in the dead of night. I am also great at using the Internet for communication, research, and other such tasks essential to my job. I am a technological junkie. I founded www.AllAboutRealEstate.com and use my internet arsenal to be more efficient and earth friendly by not wasting extra paper or gas while working with my clients. I have a knack for negotiating prices, and my background in statistics really helps when I’m finding housing information for you.
Melinda Morgan: Ms. Real Estate Guru
As a Realtor, I get to buy and sell houses, but as a person, I get to choose where I live. Is it any wonder that I’ve never chosen to move out of Oregon? Aside from the extremely plant-friendly weather, the close proximity to the ocean, and the excellent hiking spots, I love the friendly nature and diversity of the many communities where I work and play. When given such an excellent state to work in, helping people buy and sell houses is a piece of cake. Although I specialize in the Clackamas area, I have worked long enough that I feel comfortable just about anywhere in Oregon. Wherever you live, I will be happy to help you find the home that makes you happy, that helps you relax, or that simply tickles your fancy.
